Tuning Shock Absorber Set TPS2855/10

The standard shock absorber closure at the bottom of the models mentioned is equipped with various O-rings and bushes, which often leads to wear and leaks. The shock absorber also does not have sufficient volume compensation as standard (the volume of the shock absorber rod is not compensated when compressing), so that there must always be an amount of air in the damper and which can therefore mix with the oil.

This set is a complete tuning of the shock absorber, both below and above.

The upper volume compensation parts consists of 4 form-retaining POM caps, with an Or-mg and volume compensating foam. Easy assembly, but read the filling and venting description below

The lower parts consist of 4 aluminum closures, extra long supporting guide bushes of form-retaining POM in combination with oil seals. This means a very flexible damper that no longer leaks and provides much more support than the standard parts.

Fill and Bleed:

• 1)   Remove the oil when necessary
• 2)   Fill the damper up to 10 mm below the rim with new oil
• 3)   Now gently push the rod upwards to just below the oil level
• 4)   Now gently pull the rod back down
• 5)   Now let the damper stand upright for 5-15 minutes so that the air bubbles can come out, (the time depends on the oil thickness)
• 6)   Repeat steps 4 and 5 until there are no more air bubbles in the oil.
• 7)   Now push the rod halfway up the damper
• 8)   Now gently press the red cap without O-ring on so that the excess oil can come out
• 9)   Remove the cap, fit the O-ring and push the cap into the body as far as it will go
• 10) Now screw the cap on.
• 11) The bound and rebound can be set by the amount of oil.

When mounting the lower parts, we recommend that you lubricate the bush and oil seal with a little silicone oil..

About 30 cc of silicone oil is needed to fill a shock absorber.
